MelodicRock.com proudly presents Jeff Scott Soto in Australia!
It is with great pleasure and much excitement that I announce that Jeff
Scott Soto's first ever tour of Australia is confirmed to go in September!
The highly respected vocalist is heading to Australia in the first week of
September for his first ever concert tour of Down Under.
The dates will be the first in Jeff's extensive 2004 Lost In The
Translation tour. His new solo album is scheduled for release on Frontiers
Records also in September.
It has long been a desire of Jeff's to play in Australia, having conquered
the UK and Europe in recent years. It has also been a long time wish of
mine to be able to help organize and support such a tour * bringing such a
world class melodic rock artist to Australian shores.
The Jeff Scott Soto Band will play dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane,
Adelaide and Hobart.
The JSS Band is: Jeff Scott Soto * Vocals; Howie Simon * Guitar; Gary
Schutt * Bass; Dave Dzialak * Drums.
In addition to his famed career spanning solo shows, Jeff will also perform
a few Queen Tribute shows, bringing his acclaimed Queen set direct to Oz
from sold out performances at the UK Queen Convention 2003 & 2004. This
will be a real treat for Australian fans long starved of quality rock n
roll. Jeff will bring his full American band with him and will perform his
full solo show, filled with past classics as well as new tracks from his
upcoming second solo album Lost In The Translation.
Jeff's history in the music business is as long as it is varied.
His first foray into the business was as vocalist for Yngwie Malmsteen's
Rising Force. His contribution to Yngwie's first three releases remains a
fan favourite. From there it was onto the much loved melodic rockers Eyes,
then to his best known band Talisman, formed with fellow ex-Yngwie band
member Marcel Jacob.
Jeff also performed lead vocals for Axel Rudi Pell on the German
guitarist's first four studio albums.
There are various other projects such as Human Clay, Takara and the 70's
funk cover band Boogie Knights, which gained him another cult following in
Los Angeles.
In 2000 Jeff worked on songs for the hit movie Queen Of The Damned. Sadly
those sessions were never released. But later that year and into 2001 work
on another movie soundtrack was released. Jeff wrote on material for the
Box Office hit Rockstar, staring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston.
Two tracks made the soundtrack and additional vocals were featured
throughout the movie. The hit track Stand Up (written by Sammy Hagar) was
performed by Jeff and is featured in his live set along with the best of
his material with Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen, Axel Rudi Pell, and of
course, his new solo material.
Jeff is also known for his work paying tribute to other artists, having
been featured on tribute albums for Queen, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Jason
Becker, AC/DC, Pink Floyd and The Sweet.
The last 18 months saw Jeff busy releasing his first solo album, completing
work on his second CD and also releasing a brand new Talisman album titled
Cats & Dogs.
Most recently however, there has been an exciting development, with Jeff
joining up with Neal Schon (Journey, Bad English) for a new band Soul
Sirkus. Work on their debut album is currently in progress.
Jeff Scott Soto's solo show is acclaimed whenever he performs and his
following continues to expand rapidly following the huge response and word
of mouth from his solo shows.
He is one of rock n roll's most energetic frontmen and anyone who sees his
solo show will not forget it in a hurry.

Why is it that Hobart gets a Queen show, while Brisabne does not? That's unfair. :(
