Jeroen Paul Thesseling quits Obscura

Bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling has left German progressive death metallers OBSCURA. In a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Jeroen explained, "Due to repetitive conflicting schedules with job related obligations I have decided to depart OBSCURA. Beside the limited availability that kept me away from touring during the last months, I feel like taking new directions in my musical development.

"Looking back, the cooperation with OBSCURA has been positive and successful. However, it's time to move on and find new challenges and opportunities for my musical career.

"I would like to thank all the fans who supported us and wish OBSCURA all the best with their future work."

I'm pretty bummed, his presence on Cosmogenesis is what made that album revolutionary. It wasn't as prevalent on Omnivium unfortunately, but he's still an absolute monster....I can't even imagine who can replace him.

This is some fucked up shit, he was a very important part of Obscura's sound, there's no way his replacement is going to be anywhere as good as him ... i cant think of too many bassist's that are.

Not that it matters, Pestilence had a decent return with there "Resurrection Macabre", but there new album "Doctrine" is absolute shit!

Yeah are you fucking kidding me? Hannes also writes a bunch of the music, his playing gets me so fucking hard <3 Christian also brings that suave legato playing, but I would like to hear a different soloing approach to it.
