yeah, overseas most people do not actually work until coming out of the university ... but that is good as you can actually study not fucking worry about paying your tuition.

a vision of a 6'7 surly metalhead at someone's doorstep saying "here's yer fawkin' eggs" just came to mind, hahaha. :loco:

i've never been able to make it without working, i've had zero breaks in my employment except for like a 2 month period at 17 years old. momz helped me out a bit and paid for college, but everything else has fallen on my shoulders. which is fine, i'd rather be responsible than a leech like most of my friends.

I have 9 weeks of vacation owed to me this year. I need to take 4 because they won't roll them over. I have so much vacation, I'm even going to donate some to the New Orleans folk in my company.

That said, I'm at uni, and job's I've had:
Packing at a cereal factory
Soldering/circuit testing at an electronics factory
Selling car parking tickets (great Saturday job I had for a few years when I was at school - well paid, not much to do, no boss)
Prenatal blood screening in the biochmistry department of my local hospital
Fieldwork/sample preperation/rock analysis
And Zero Tolerance pays, so I guess that counts as a job too. Most of those were in summers or my gap year, other than ZT and the Saturday job which I've juggled with my studies and other stuff :)

so far:
bean monkey at peet's coffee
barista monkey at starbucks
clerk monkey at tower records

i worked for most of high school and this past summer but not while i'm up here at college...i have to focus on what's important, i.e. never being sober.

Family oyster farm, many 16 hour days (from age 10-16)
paper route with a bunch of overly hostile people to deliver to (for 2 months)
Produce department assclown at the welfare shit quality store (many angry, dangerous customers)
Slave at local hake plant
part-time CR at my college (last year)

gonna apply for the CR job again this year as well

dream job list:

writer for rolling stone, like in the 60's
spaztastic writer with a price on my head like salman rushdie
rock n' fuckin' roller

realistic but still ideal future job list:

recording studio owner dude
bookstore owner dude
music store owner dude
bass luthier

probable future job list:

trucker
carpenter
office bitch but in a new place

hahaha never thought of it that way.

although there's that one line he says "you know when you're 26 and you lose some chick, you think you're going to be alone forever?" and i'm 26, so yeah. either way i did think that once or twice, and thought it would be cool.

i figure the only reason i'll ever get married is because i want kids, and don't want to do the whole broken family thing. spending the rest of my life with one chick isn't my idea of fun, to be quite honest.

since I was 15:

Dishwasher
Prep Cook
Cook's Prep
Line Cook
Pizza Maker
Fry Cook
Line Cook
Deli Fag
Accounts Manager
Assistant Manager
Customer Accounts Advisor

and a few jobs that lasted only one day.

haha ... back in those days, I was 6'7" but half todays weight. i looked like Chris Robinson ... used to push around a handtruck the streets with a MC jacket and a sleeveles denim jacket on top of it. the whole area where this s heavy jewish population and none ever noticed my Slaytanic Wehrmacht tee. :loco:
Used to get good fucking tips too, sometimes $10 a drop (that does not sound right) ...
