Jon Oliva storytellers tour!

Planning on making the six hour drive from NE Ohio to see the Dingbatz show (hey, went to Florida last year, Jersey is nothing compared to that!), then hitting the Pittsburgh show on the way back.

Kong said Jon will be doing some songs off of the new CD, which is great news for me, since I love the new tunes.

This is going to be really cool. He did something similar to this a few years back with Matt Laporte in Seminole, FL and it was an amazing experience. The ProgPower event last year was excellent as well but was obviously geared towards the songwriting aspect, while the Seminole event touched on his entire career. Curious as to how he'll do it this time around, and if it will be just Jon performing, or if the other JOP guys will be up rocking with him. Either way, looking forward to the St. Pete show!

Does anyone have any details on this? Will it be a career retrospective? I see comments that it will be similar to his PP workshop but when I click the link, all I get is a booking agency. Google searches just tell me dates.

This is the most detail I have been able to find on this tour:
Come join the mastermind & singer/songwriter of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Savatage, and Jon Oliva's Pain for a night of stories, insight into his career, and live performance

I wonder if these shows will host support acts as well.
Or will he do this for more than an hour or so, switching up between stories and performances.

I'm still not entirely sure what it is but thanks for posting. I'm concerned that the venue booked for Charlotte is way too big.

There's a date in Akron on December 7 at Ripper's Rock House (Tim Ripper Owens' new place). Not exactly Cleveland, but close enough...

Why's that? That's the show I'm going to attend, but I'm not familiar with the venue.

With the exception of Progpower, the few times I've seen Jon Oliva live, there hasn't been much of a crowd. The venue in Charlotte is about 2000 capacity. I hope I'm wrong and there is a huge crowd. Jon certainly deserves it.
