Satriani to be honest, I prefer his tone as it's sweeter, and much prefer his style of songwriting as it just flows. Just tastier you know?

In terms of technique mr Vai is way out there, but technique isn't everything really.

And I do agree that vai does come of sounding very80's poison like sometimes, but then again I really don't like his tone, but that's my own opinion.

In terms of guitar playing, I think I rate Stevie Ray Vaughn above both of them...
