LIMITED EDITION LIVE DVD ADDED BONUS IN INITIAL PRESSING

Judas Priest has reigned supreme for 30 years as the most influential and commercially successful pure heavy metal band, and the masters are being honored with the career-spanning, four-CD, 65-track box set 'Metalogy' scheduled for release on May 3rd for Europe and the UK and May 4th 2004 for the US and Canada, by Sony Music/Legacy Records. The worldwide reverence for Judas Priest has resulted in sales of 20 million albums and countless sold-out concerts.

'Metalogy,' the first-ever Judas Priest box set, was assembled with the full participation of the band and it covers music recorded worldwide for the Gull, Sony Music/Columbia, CMC International, SPV, Atlantic and JVC labels between 1974 and 2002. Remastered hits, fan favorites, live rarities, B-sides and a previously unreleased demo are included. And as a bonus, the initial pressing of 'Metalogy' will include a live DVD of a complete concert filmed on December 12, 1982, at Mid South in Memphis, TN, on the 'Screaming for Vengeance' tour. This show was released on home video as 'Judas Priest Live' but it has been out of print for many years, and fans have often requested that it be reissued. This new DVD is mastered in pristine 5.1 Surround Sound for the ultimate Priest live concert experience.

Fans will be thrilled with the packaging of 'Metalogy.' The 7"x7" box is appropriately wrapped in leather and metal studs. The 7"x7" full color book features a full discography, biographical essay, timeline and numerous previously unpublished photos.

Lastest about Judas Priest's box sets ............looks damm good huh

Nup, must be his post. It's not highlighting in mine, so that's all good.

For the record, I hate that type of advertising.

And :headbang: in relation to the thread topic. :)

Crappest box set ever. Its a 4cd best of with a few live tracks. Bah. The dvd looks good though.

But Judas Priest DO rock :headbang:

When, oh WHEN do we get a dvd released from the Painkiller tour?

I'll be getting the box set. As a relatively new convert to the Priesthood, it's as good a way as any to catch up. Nice to see some Ripper era material on there just for consistency.

Is the DVD one concert or a cut and paste job?

I wouldn't fork out the money for a boxed set and then probably end up buying the remasters anyway. Better to start off with Metal Works to get an idea of which albums you like best and then get the remasters after that.

Every Priest album is pretty consistent and low on filler so you only need to really hear 2-3 tracks to get an idea what it sounds like and if you'll wanna buy it. If you like the 2-3 tracks, pretty much the rest of the album will sound like that so you'll like it all. And if you don't like them, then same deal, you probably won't like the rest.

I already have the remasters of Unleashed In The East, British Steel, Screming For Vengeance, Defenders of the Faith and Painkiller, plus Metalworks, Jugulator and 98 Live Meltdown. I'm just getting this because I like box sets :).

Point of Entry is an album that gets bagged a lot but I think it's great. Solar Angels comes to mind as an amazing song. One of my favourite Priest songs. I also really like the Turbo album which also gets a lot of stick cos of the use of synth guitars. I guess I like the variety. My least fave Priest album is Ram it Down.
