The song deals with the grief of a young man, dealing with the loss of his loved one, who died under unknown circomstences, but that part you already figured out i guess. The story is a fiction, and the insperation for the lyrics did not come from a specific case which happened in real life. When we thought of composing this balade, in around 1992, it was very uncommon for a Death Metal band to come up with a balade, and this song, back in the days, has become something of a symbol that we were reconized with, and we even decided to title our demo under this name, because of the uniqueness of it. :headbang:

i agree it was shocking for a death metal band to made a balade in 1992, but in my point of view , it's a reflection of Orphaned Land soul.

i like bands who mix differents styles as Opeth , ....
