Just got a TS7, rate the tone and advice

Already a huge improvement, it doesn't have that annoying grainy sound I usually get without a OD pedal.

No bass obviously, shitty drums, mic (57) is right infront of the cone

what can I do to smoothen the tone out more? pretty sure it has to do with my mic position because it sounds fine through the amp.

Closed headphones and a reamp box or friend playing the guitar, move the mic slowly and carefully to the place where it sounds the best.
