Just got W.C.F.Y.A.

Well, to break up the love fest I guess. I've said it before: WCFYA is the WORST Anthrax album since Fistful of Metal. Aside from a few strong songs, much of it is generic and yes poppy by Anthrax standards. Strap it On is awful

Sorry, but the album is nowhere nearly as good as Persistence of Time or Sound Of WHite Noise, those are the best Thrax albums by far.

I'm gonna try and make an attempt to list the order of my fondness of Anthrax albums:

Sound of White Noise
Persistance of Time
WCFYA
Stomp 442
Among The Living
Spreading the Disease
Volume 8
State of Euphoria
Fistfull of Metal

Ok, this is my current rankings. Alot of close calls. Volume 8 was awesome, it just kind of lacked consistency. State of Euphoria had strong songs just one or two too many "filler" songs. I may dare even say a few too many. P.O.T. is definitely the best Joey album in my opinion, a close second to SOWN, but I can still picture Bush doing it better.

Fistfull of Metal never really got much play from me but I really love what they've done with Metal Thrashing Mad and Panic with Bush at the helm. Too bad they don't do Panic live with Joey now.

I think I agree. It's close with Among The Living though. I'm not sure which one I'd pick if I could only have one. What doesn't die, safe home, cadillac rock box, taking the music back (best on CD IMO), Think about an end, and others..... Amazing CD. honestly, would probably pick it over ATL.

Agreed, wait, damnit I already posted that. My bad.

After all the hype about WCFYA being the best Anthrax album in a long time I downloaded some to see if I liked it.. It all sounded pretty generic to me... Definately didn't catch my attention enough to buy it...

WCFYA is definitely the best one. The sound is better than any other. The song composition is intelligent. Complex enough to be exciting with repeated listening but simple enough to give you hooks to hold onto from the first time you hear it. There is a ton of variety with solid old-school rockers like Cadillac Rock Box and Strap It On complemented by the all-out thrash attack of What Doesn't Die and Black Dahlia.

WCFYA is the most "grown up" Anthrax record of them all (for lack of a better term) and the best overall metal album of 2003.

I think it's the second best BUsh era album, but definately not NEAR the best ANTHRAX album.

Wu, sorry Black 13 would disagree, he's been quoted loads of times naming WCFYA as the best Anthrax album. I actually disagree with him, id say SOWN is better but WCFYA is a close 2nd...

WCFYA = best Anthrax album
Someone has forgotten Volume 8!:Spin:
Although occasionally the order will change, vol.8 usually wins.
cant argue with Black dahlia tho. fucking amazing song live (after WDD? HELL YEAH!), and one more reason to hate the reunion!

I still can't figure out what people have against stomp. Just cuz it did not get as much exposure, or label backing does not make it a bad album. I found volume 8 to lack a good overal vibe. It was all over the place, kinda like B's, but it was never meant to be that way. It seemed like they were experimenting with who they were. Everyone has there own opinions but SOWN and Stomp do it for me, then vol. 8 turns me off, WCFYA got me on board again. Vol. 8 has a little to much filler on it.
