Just started a proyect

Well, I've been lurking around on UM forums for a long time, but well in the last month I started a proyect called Large Hardon Colider (yeah its mispelled on purpose), and well we have the idea of doing prog metal but with a extreme face on it, and well now Im curious about all needed to record, so I would like to ask you all, which equipment do you consider (personally) its the best for recording/mixing/mastering, as well as the software and all needed on this task

If you dont mind sharing some tips that would be great, thanks for all the help you can give, and If sometime in these years we achieve to record something it surely will be for this

The very few things I have are a Epiphone Les Paul Special II, a Boss Gt-6 and a small 15w Spider II

Well, I'd start with an SSL 4K and PT HD5. For microphones you can't go wrong with a fuck-ton of pre-80's Neumann's.

Seriously though, we can't give you any tips unless you provide us with a budget of some sort, whether you will be tracking real drums etc.
