As the title says. Just upgraded my Motherboard (integrated Firewire port). I was previously using a PCI Firewire Card.

What do you recommend?

Install the firewire card and plug my interface into it.

or

Plug in my interface directly into the motherboard

Update: Firewire card has the recommended Texas Instrument chipset whereas my new mobo does not. I'm thinking about installing my firewire card. What you guys think?

I'd simply try it out. If you don't experience any hiccups without the firewire card, I'd stick with the motherboard's port. Simple as that, really.

Exactly. If the onboard one works OK then stick with it. Reduces complexity in your PC, less to go wrong etc. Keep the expansion card as a spare.
