Just what did Peter Criss play on?!

I think Bruce played 90% of the album, if not Tommy Thayer...
Drums on that record were handled by Kevin Valentine who played on the Doro album produced by Gene and also he played with Cinderella at one point... Now are they the good songs that didn't make Carnival of Sins? I think those are the tracks that didn't make it because they didn't fit the vibe of Carnival of Sins, as you know the KISS fans refer to that record as the grunge album...

From the drumming on COS, the style fits Singer, once again I point to the song dreaming, which is my favorite off that album, listen to the drums right after the solo where the tempo picks up and the double bass starts--thats Eric Singer, or at the very least his kit.

Alot of the solos has the Bruce Kulick feel to them, he has a distinct way of soloing

I liked the Revenge lineup as well, shame Eric Carr died but I think that Singer and the direction they wanted to go really helped Revenge become their strongest album since Creatures.

Can you tell I like Kiss much?

I read in a KISS Fanzine Fan Depot I think, I have it stashed somewhere, they conducted an interview with Singer and he wasn't in for the Psycho Circus sessions, in that same zine they interviewed Bruce where he shares that he played on the album and states that they used drummer Kevin Valentine, though he wouldn't elaborate how much is Kevin on the final product...

Code:
Drummer Kevin Valentine, though he wouldn't elaborate how much is Kevin on the final product

Kevin played on 11 tracks. I talked with Kevin about this when he was in the Graham Bonnet band & was running his web site. But there will always be stories about how others were involved.

A good example of this is White Snake 87' Ansely Dunbar played all the drums on the original recording but Denny Carmassi apparently went in a year later a redid or re-recorded a few songs, who knows.

I talked with Fankie Banalli about his involvment in the Hughes/Thrall album at Glenns DVD shoot a couple of years ago & he did not know what he played on. So sometimes it is hard to find out the truth even when you go to the source.

Enjoy the the music & rock on.................:headbang::headbang::headbang:

good recent example of that is the track "dreaming" off Psycho Circus, its so blatant its Eric Singer yet Criss was credited

That was one of my fave tracks off that album. Even on my first listen years ago I could tell something was different in the rhythm department.

It's really no shock that Kiss had other musicians. Doesn't bother me at all. If someone can't do the part, get someone who can. In a studio setting, time = major money.

I'd rather have a stand in who could play the part than the original who couldn't.
