KATATONIA Announces 'Sky Void of Stars' Album, Shares 'Atrium' Single

Swedish melancholic metallers KATATONIA will release a new studio album, "Sky Void of Stars", on January 20, 2023 via Napalm Records.

KATATONIA comments on "Sky Void Of Stars": "Our 12th album, 'Sky Void Of Stars' is a dynamic journey through vibrant darkness. Born out of yearning for what was lost and not found, the very peripheries of the unreachable, but composed and condensed into human form and presented as sounds and words true to the KATATONIA signum. No stars here, just violent rain."

Sky Void of Stars is set for release on January 20.
Interview: Katatonia’s Drummer Mojjo Discusses the Brilliant Sky Void of Stars

"I was immediately taken by how direct it was compared to City Burials [2020], which was more ambient and electronic in a way and also more progressive and technical. So, hearing the demo for Sky Void of Stars immediately sent me to some sort of stage mode. These are songs that are meant to be performed live. And the whole album has that feeling of being on tour almost, for me, in the band. It’s dark and bleak but very intense and forward."
