so i was checking out the website for The Muddy River Smokehouse where we are playing in Portsmouth, NH and if you look on their calendar page on the day we are playing (April 18) that it has this huge graphic advertising their Blody Mary Mix Contest and in tiny letter says "Cerebus Shoal in the club."

also apparently there is no cover for the show i.e. we probably won't be getting paid that night.

sometimes venues will still pay you from the bar take if there isn't a cover, so be sure to remind patrons to drink up and tip their bartenders.

restaurants are weird to play. i played an italian restaurant once with a group- basically a bar with food. but there was NO space and i was practically giving one guy a guitar-laden lap dance.
at least this place sounds like the stage area is totally separated from the eating area.

portsmouth is one of my old stomping grounds. but be aware, if you weren't already, that new hampshireites are a different breed.
