Oh yes.. get these patches man! they are the best of what's on my POD XT..

They're great for demos, and thank you! However, when I a/b with the tone I'm getting now out of my 6505+ miked up, it's staggering how much better the real thing sounds!

They sure are fun for screwing around with! I combined 2 different tracks of your patch with 2 of one of DIOBOLIC's patch to get this:

I ran all 4 tracks to an aux w a C4 tweaked from Andy's setting. I panned your patch tracks hard right and left and DIOBOLIC's +-60 down about 5DB in the mix. Guitar was a mahogany bodied star with an EMG 81. Some people really like it, some don't, but it sounds pretty good to me... I normally use lower gain, single tracked sounds, but I'm doing some heavier stuff now and experimenting.

Just killer patches...

Sounds a bit scooped to me... I'd recommend duplicating the "5150 TS9 421" tone, and changing the Mic model to "57 on axis." Then try two tracks with the 421, two with the 57, and you should have the mids you need. Right now, the tone you have is severely scooped and won't mix well I don't think!

I'll do that and see how it sounds! Thanks for the input...

Kinda Dimebag like though, dontcha think?

I remember trying both patches when they first posted them quite a while ago and when I used them with both of my main guitars, they didn't sound very metal at all, even with layering. That's not to say they suck, but I'm not getting the type of sounds that others using the patches are getting. The patches sound weak with my guitars and I don't know why. Guitar number one is a Schecter Hellraiser C7 with EMG-707's and the strings are a little thicker than what comes stock. Guitar number two is an ESP/LTD EC-1000 Deluxe (black) with dual EMG-81's and 11-50 custom gauged set. Both guitars are mahogany body and neck, both necks are set. Both batteries were brand new as well as the strings before I had d/l'ed the patches.

Any guesses as to why they don't sound right with my axes? I could record some tracks this weekend or Monday to show what I'm talking about if you would like.

I dunno what the problem might be. That clip I posted earlier in this thread, although pretty scooped, also sounds pretty damn heavy to me. I used a mahogany guitar with a maple neck and a EMG 81. Not saying it is the greatest tone, but definitely metal...

I'd like to hear whaat you get from the patches. Post a clip!

My patches are all totally different now than the ones people downloaded from me a while ago.
