Not true. Anyone who has any kind of basic understanding of how the band (and the whole style for that matter) formed would definitely acknowledge that a.) when Metallica formed James Hetfield was an AVERAGE guitar player and b.) If anyone established any kind of authority in the early days of that band it was quite obviously MUSTAINE...
The fact is, the guy never got the recognition he deserved for basically REVOLUTIONIZING a style of music and basically initiate the spark that would later become the world's biggest rock band.
....and nevermind the fact that Mustaine's song-writing always just simply kicked the shit out of whatever Metallica was doing at the time, out of bitterness and just GREATER ENERGY, MORE BALLS, MORE ATTITUDE and yes, even MORE CLASS!!
So, uh, to wrap up my point... fuck Metallica. Long live the king.

White Rabbit
Your point is fucking PERFECT
I agree .
Have a listen to "Hit The Lights"on the first demo.Mustaine Kicks

I see alot of people talk shit about Matallica .Metallica 1982-3 came out with "No Life Till' Leather " Demo .. Thanks to Dave Mustaine it shocked alot of us metal-heads (I know most of you were 2 years old at the time)
That set the metal underground tape trading in to full drive .Next was Slayer & a other SA.Slayer ,Destruction.Exodus (the best tape of all)I still have the Megadeth Live With Kerry King (low quality video)Keep METAL UNDERGROUND

Nevermore are the best band to break the bullshit radio playlist
I have done my best to promote the Band here (on Q107 Played once And I didn't get my disk back...fags)

Smilies are for Sissy's

if you like
Killing Is My Fucking Business And Business Is Good check out the band helmet, they are just the reverse if you know what I mean.

The remaster makes it even better. I tihnk at the time because of the poor production quality. KIMB never got the credit it deserved.

Now its taken until now to hear it at its best.

Kick ass album for the time

Agreed! I got the No Life demo in about 1984 (I wasn't 2; I was 13 - hah!), and I was blown away by it. For me, the Megadeth KIMB is decent, but nothing ground-shattering. The production was shit! Good LP, just bad sound. still, it has its place...good ol' Dave!

Agree again on NLTL - it started the whole tape trading movement, in which I was a major player. I still have over 3,000 original tapes I'm now putting on CD...anyway...

Agree thrice - Nevermore is, in my opinion, the BEST metal band in the US right now. People will argue Iced Earth, but I'll stick to Nevermore.

BTW, cool names you mentioned: SA Slayer, Destruction, Venom, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Demon Eyes, Exodus...ah...where did my metal go???

I also have that old Megadeth vid with Kerry King on it...mine is decent, but dark as hell. I have a ten minute interview on tape DM did after the show where he rips Slayer and Metallica...funny shit!

Id have to agree with Nevermore over Iced Earth. Iced Earth are getting way to much hype from people who havent even heard Nevermore as well.

Like on the Megadeth bb. All concentration is put on them, then mention nevermore and all is ignored, although a few fans have been converted there who have took the time to listen. It all pays off as they say.

Talking about Iced Earth and Megadeth. The interview posted on here the other day with Jon Shaffer mentioned about Dave being burned out form touring and part of the reasons for him quitting were encouraged by that.

I can see him coming back. I hope he does and if he did, I could see him releasing incredible stuff. Rust in Peace comes to mind like he wanted to acheive again before the split.

Opeth's Orchid would be my vote! This disc changed my veiw of music alot which is very much like what Megadeth and Metalica did for me in the 80's and Van Halen did for me in the 70's.

Hendrix's Axis: Bold as Love in the 60's
Van Halen S/T in the 70's
Megadeth's KIMB in the 80's
Orchid in the 90's
