King Diamond's U.S. Tourdates in Jeopardy.

Yeah, he's been slow to recover. I think he needs to pray a little harder to Satan to fix that back. It's already cost him a European tour he had scheduled for this winter, and now it looks like it might cost him his Spring tour of the States.

I hope the King gets well soon.

Nooooo!!!!!

Oh man, I sure hope he gets better. I friend of mine had to miss PP this year due to that same thing. After a couple of weeks of never ending pain, he ended up having surgery to fix it. Took an hour and was home the next day. Wonder why he won't check into this, instead of trying to tough it out.

Dude, I speak from experience. A herniated disc is bad news. I had one a little over a year ago and was in bed for a week and couldn't move. Had to go on 2 months of physical therapy and some heavy-duty painkillers. REALLY REALLY painful, indescribable. It's hard to even walk, much less perform. You really have to listen to your body as far as what you can and can't do. We played a show about 5 weeks after my injury, and luckily the PT had kicked in so I was able to do it, but I was icing my back down, downing 4-8 Advil at a time (this is after the prescription stuff ran out), and not lifting anything - which I still can't do, much to the dismay of my bandmates. I still have numbness down my left leg at times and have to watch what I do. It sucks....

OMG! 2008 was not very promising so far. Now this comes along? Get well soon, KD. I want to go to the Sabbath!!!!!

It's really tough for King to cancel....I know he was devastated of having to cancel the European tour (as were we in Manticora/Loch Vostok/The Prowlers who were supporting), but it's nothing to joke about.

Martin from Manticora had kind of the same thing, but since he's younger, he recovered pretty much in 3 months, after a lot of painkillers and severe pain. He had begun work out and everything looked fine, when we went to Romain to perform. After the show, he literally dragged his right leg after himself, and was fired from his day-job due to too many sick days!!!!

I am already now afraid of what will happen to the postponed European tour that was re-scheduled for autumn 2008, but it doesn't really matter, as long as the King recovers completely....would be such a mess to have to cancel ½ the tour, while on the road.

See yall soon on tour....

Lars

let him get better, dont just pop him full of Demerol and Codeine to make it thru the tour for YOU to see. That's very selfish. Come on, this is nothing to sneeze at. Let him cancel, recoup, try it again.

I'd be totally fine with him rescheduling his tour if it means that I don't have to sit through Leaves' Eyes again.

Believe it or not I actually enjoyed Leaves' Eyes when they were here in Texas a short time ago. I've actually been a Liv Kristine fan way back from the old Theatre of Tragedy days. Having said that I do admit that Alexander Krull's repeated incitement of the crowd to yell out "Oy! Oy! Oy!" got old rather quickly! One or two songs of that is enough for me but it seemed like every song was subjected to the same treatment....

We had already decided that we were going to miss the opening act, and just fit where we could fit for KD. Neither one of us can sit through LE again.

I am so bummed about this news. I know it's got to suck for KD even more, but I really wanted to see this.

And that would be me. Missing this years PP sucked. I'm now almost two weeks past surgery and doing a lot better. My herniated disc was really bad, and surgery had to be done. If you read what King said about not being able to sit down and having his leg on fire I could've wrote that myself, except that I would've added that a knife was also constantly stabbing it through the fire. Some herniated discs aren't as bad as others, there's people walking around everywhere with them, but if his is as bad as it sounds he needs to have surgery. You guys have no idea but medication does not help. I could not sit down at all and had to lie flat on the floor to have any measure of relief. Driving was also impossible.

On a side note the Lake Buena Vista show would've been the first time I've seen him so this sucks as well. But those fucktards at Disney would've cancelled that show and it would've had to be moved anyways if possible.

Surgery only works some of the time. I have 3 herniated discs and get around ok most of the time just so I take it slow, but a few months ago had sciatica so bad it was ridiculous. Ready for surgery then told the chiropractor the right hip was also bothering me. He started adjusting it along with everything else, and the sciatica went away. That could be King's problem also. It does happen that way sometimes. If I would've had surgery, it would have changed nothing. We all wish King well. Let him get over this and I'm sure he will be ready to do the tour properly.

Damn. First the news that unless I go to Europe I'll likely never see Therion, and then this!

Get well soon King!

Awww maaan - and I just bought a ticket to that show while at the Nightwish show at Jaxx a couple weeks ago.

Anyway, as some of you already know, a herniated disc is not something to be taken lightly. I can only hope for the best for him.
