I'm not sure what to make of this. 1933, 1976, and now 2005. They should erect a statue of Kong in Manhattan.....because he's brought more exposure to New York City than anyone else that I know of. Other than maybe Ruth or Dimaggio. Way to go, 'ya big monkey!(LOL)

I saw it yesterday, (free ticket) and I'm glad that I didn't pay for it... terrible, boring, I was waiting for a hobbit in the background, however some of the shots were well done to capture the past era of film. Overall though, shite

:err:

Wow. I'm surprised to be reading these negative comments.

To anyone who hasn't seen this film yet: do yourself a favor and watch this flawless labor of love unfold before your eyes. I was highly impressed with this film.

It's worth a Netfilx, but I am sick of all these remakes, movies about really old books, and movies about really old tv shows. Can Hollywood create anything original anymore.

Good comment!

I agree, it seems that everything of late is either a bio, or a remake. However.....if someone could come up with a decent script off the Six Million Dollar Man.....and could make it so that it didn't come of as cheesy or a copy of the original series.....and had some darkness and character introspective to it, rather than a tongue in cheek storyline.....without some of the old cast members thrown into the fray.....then I could support this.

Unfortunately, when they remake old '70's classics, they butcher the plot and effects by trying to bring far too much of a modern element into it. Then it fails.

Anyone remember the first Batman? Anyome remember the ones that followed.....except for maybe Batman Returns? Dark, mysterious, moody, introspective, character development.....not cartoonish the way that they continued.

I saw this and honestly, I couldn't stop moving and fidgiting through out the whole thing. Usually a movie captures my imagination and I am intranced by what I see on the screen... This pile of shit? Nope. Nothing. I was so fucking bored. Good thing I didn't pay. I'll let my buddy live with that.
I'm done with blockbuster movies for awhile. War of the Worlds was fucking boring, this movie is fucking shite. What next? Wait... I don't really care!

My son's birthday is on Christmas & we traditionally go to the movies to celebrate..he can't decide if he wants to see King Kong or the Narnia movie though. I would like to check out King Kong, myself..

It was pretty good. Overly long, and some of the scenes with the dinosaurs didnt work visually; but, the scenes with Kong, the acting, and the update they did to the story were all excellent.

I saw this the other day - loved it! I don't mind sitting through what some say was the slow part of the film (beginning) because I liked how they built up the characters and revealed what kind of people they were, why they got on that ship etc. I thought they did an amazing job with Kong, those friggin EYES! I hate CGI that looks fake, I never got that vibe when watching Kong. The bug scene... muh ahaha. Great movie.

Anyone pick up on Kong having a mate at an earlier time? Anyone?

Yes, we saw the skelton of her in one of the caves, I imagine that's why he was so lonely and angry. Considering how many T-Rex's there were in the movie and then the seen with the vampires/bats attacking Kong, it's no wonder he was the only survivor of his race.

Awesome! Glad that someone was actually paying attention to everything that wasn't CGI related! (LOFL)

.....and they enjoyed watching the sunsets and sunrises together. And they call "us" the more evolved species!
