Kiss Sonic Boom

That's what happens when it's 10 years between albums and they've been touring for the last year. Plus it's Kiss - sort of like how when metallica releases a new album it'll go platinum (even if it's St Anger).

I wonder how many illegal downloads there are of the album... probably in the hundreds of thousands.

If you look at the RIAA website KISS' records don't usually got platinum. Gold perhaps but their string of platimun albums ended in the 80's. I would agree with the example of Metallica putting out an album and it selling regardless. I think it was a smart move in adding a second disc and a DVD. Because there are many downloads and at least those people that liked what they heard on the illegal copies might be inclined to pick up the CD on release date because of the added bonuses.

Ok since no one guessed. Listen to the backing vocals during the chorus of alice coopers poison and then listen to the “yeahs” on SAY YEAH. The tone and chord progression is almost identical

I'm pleasantly surprised by "Sonic Boom". I think it's quite good....and it really does have a bit of their 70s sound/vibe. Another solid 2009 release (shaping up to be a very strong year for new music!).

I am a little bit strange as far as being a Kiss fan. I like 80's Kiss. I like the driving rhythms that Kulick used to have with Kiss. It might be something I like. I don't know.

Back to the 70's glory? In the tradition of Destoyer or Love Gun?! Bull"fucking"shit!!!! It's scab KISS in paint playing mediocre Asylum/Animalize songs...I like it about as much as Psycho Circus there are a couple keeprs on it. Overall not worth the wait. This record makes me like Anomaly even more...

Ok, finally listened to the new Ace disc. Quite good. Too early to say if I like it more than Sonic Boom - both are good. But, the production utterly crushes SB. Anton Fig on drums... go figure.

I dig the cover of Fox on the Run, but for years I actually thought that song was a Kiss song with Ace singing anyways!

Hmmm.... I'd have to give this a closer listen. That would be kind of interesting if Alice sude KISS again like he did when they released Psycho Circus?!

yeah listen closely. after alice says lips are poison listen to the arrangment of the background vocals there and then listen to the "yeahs" after paul shouts out say yeah. exact same chord progression imo
