Kiuas @ Powerfest Chicago 5/8/09

[Stand Undefeated]

I was blessed to be able to finally see Kiuas in the states, and here are some pictures to document my much worthy 9 hour commute to Chicago from Pittsburgh, PA.

Unfortunately there was a change in the time in which Kiuas was supposed to perform (instead of going on at 8:30, it was more like 7ish, and I only caught the final song of their set (Across the Snows), in which all these pictures occurred.

I was lucky to catch Mikko and Markku passing by the entrance about an hour or so after their set. I caught up with them basically just wanting to say hi and give them the good word. I told them I was only able to catch the last song after the event time change, and they felt my sorrow. So the guys invited me and a couple of my friends back into the bands private room at the venue for a meet and greet. We got to chill and hang with the guys for some time. Kiuas are great guys, very friendly, and funny... especially Ilja's story about having trouble buying smokes in the US, without his identification.

I can say that even though I almost completely missed the entire set, I am very thankful to hang out with Kiuas (and have a group photo taken!), as they were so kind to spend some time with their fans from the US!

Here's to hoping to see Kiuas at Paganfest 3!

Nice... my favorites you listed are shots #5 & #3.

I also took a bunch of nice shots from their short, but spectacular show. Their energy level was ridiculously high. Perzonal War was awesome as well.

Wow, I love your pics (I wish my camera was half as good as yours)...

By any chance do you have the set list they performed? I'm almost too afraid to know what songs I missed. :/

I caught Warrior Soul as I was entering, and of course Across the Snows.
