Kobra and the Lotus are one of the most successful and influential new metal bands emerging out of Canada. Fronted and formed by powerhouse vocalist Kobra Paige, the band's popularity is due to their high energy, molten metal live show that continues to define them. The first album, Out of the Pit, produced by Kevin Shirley, launch in March 2010. In the following 16 months the band performed 168 gigs, across 5 countries including 7 festival stages. The band has recorded their second album, produced by Julius 'Juice' Butty, scheduled for release in early 2012. A pre-release of their music video Welcome To My Funeral point to an undisputed evolution in the band; the music is stronger, meaner and heavier. Touring for Out Of The Pit had a huge influence on us in terms of realizing which direction we wanted the new music to take, says Kobra. We really wanted to create new music that would portray the large amount of energy we put forward in a live performance.
Kobra and the Lotus will be hitting the UK again this December. The new live show is largely based on the upcoming album.
