I just received this album promo from Napalm Records and I have to say, I love it! They mix metal, polka (yes, POLKA!), industrial, reggae, hip hop and punk into something fun, catchy and original!

Plus the video is awesome!!!

I liked it. That's a lot of different genres thrown into one song. I'm always down for that! I like the reggae flavor. Its all about the Marley!

That's like a mix of Mindless Self Indulgence, Rammstein, and whatever else the fuck it is...

I can't decide if I like it or not, but it's certainly original and creative.

Is it just me, or does this band's name get a whole new meaning, if you divide it into 2??? Kont Rust

Sorry, couldn't help myself....I am a swine.....

polka (yes, POLKA!),

idk bro, but is that really that surprising? bands have been doing polka-sounding metal for almost a decade now. Ever heard Finntroll, Turisas?

That video is really well done but this band is really cheesy imo. Skindred (and Dub War before them) did the ragga-metal thing way better.

There seem to be some major differences between Kontrust and the two bands you mentioned. Yes they all have reggae front men who can go into a metal voice, but adding female vox doubles the interesting things they do in a song. But the key difference I get, just from a few YouTube samples of your two suggestions, is that Kontrust is far more upbeat, and dare I say it......fun.

This band is kind of cool, for sure. Well put together. However, as AS pointed out, polka and metal has been done before over and over.

Kontrust would be fun to see live...though I can think of at least 20 other oddballs that I'd pick first..
