Yeah, I would definitely always take a look into the organization before you start supporting them or giving money.

Oh good, it's made it's way here as well.

I'll say again what I said on Facebook: I love how it takes a viral video on everyone's favourite social networking website to make them suddenly decide they give a shit about anyone outside their picturebook lives. Best part about it is nobody will do anything other than argue about it on the internet for a few days before it's all forgotten.

i don't get it. this shit is happening for decades, IMHO if anyone wanted to do anything against it, it would have already happended before.

^ are you always that optimistic?

i think it shows pretty well that something IS happening
and a few dollars won't kill you, nor make your studio gear less shiny

Absolutely. People have problems that need dealing with in their own countries (America included). Not that these people dont need help, but I think we should take a look around first.

what happens when you have everything you really need? ...and have done everything you can for your own country and yourself thus far?

i have time and i have money... i suppose it might not be the same story for everyone else but it is something i have researched and i am doing everything i can to help because this is a very real situation. i have friends that have been working over there for almost 5 years and they can attest to the horrific state of that place and its surrounding countries.

it's a totally normal to feel skeptical about any organization that takes money but this campaign is more of an experiment than a charity. of course the effort is to support the victims and their families but the focus is on the US is it's people. the organization is incredibly transparent about the situation and are open to criticism or other ideas that might help.

even if you are not an activist ...the point is to make this as "trendy" as possible. because this individual is a criminal but a lot of people have no idea who he is and the truth is, osama bin laden was responsible for even less deaths but the US spent a trillion dollars and over 10 years trying to find him.

maybe i just think this is a lot more important than any other war the US has ever fought because it is an actual case of right and wrong.

ughhh! sorry for the rant. :dopey:

Nobody is saying the situation isn't real. They are saying IC is a piece of shit organization.

maybe i just don't understand why people are saying that? ic has been extremely transparent about this situation and exactly where the money is going and what they are trying to achieve.

there are a lot of "organizations" that are very un-organized (as it were) but ic has been fairly articulate in their efforts to be heard.

i would like to think i am a reasonable person with a relatively open mind however i am unable to follow any negative assertion regarding this campaign or the organization. it's not very difficult to research this entity's priority. if everyone understands that this is a real problem and the organization is exposing it to a public that might have been (at one point) completely unaware of it, what is the problem with the organization?

all charities are flawed because they are organized and operated by people. maybe the previous work of this organization has been imperfect but i don't think that echoes the idea of this project we are talking about. someone sitting behind a computer spouting scams and shenanigans at a legitimate operation is moreso a "piece of shit" as this does not produce a fundamental argument, it is just hearsay.

if the this organization is truly a "piece of shit" the people that believe this and have proof of it should come out from behind their blogs of misinformation and expose the fraud to the public media. but i have gathered in the last 3 months (or so) this group is legit, the problem is legit and the support has been overwhelming.

so, i guess until the high powered law offices of saul goodman can prove that this group is indeed a "piece of shit" my support will continue with them.

and if i am wrong about this group and their agenda and get swindled out of my time and money i will shamefully admit, "man! this group is a piece. of. shit!"

but it wouldn't be the first time.

seacrest, out!
