04.14.08 | ANTHRAX ANNOUNCES A WEEKEND WITH IRON MAIDEN AND A WARM-UP CLUB SHOW!!!
Metal legends ANTHRAX have announced a short spring tour, kicking off with a warmup club show at Chicago’s Double Door on May 28th, 2008. The Chicago warm-up show will be the band’s first live performance with their new singer Dan Nelson. In addition to the band’s classic hits from their 25 year career, ANTHRAX will for the first time ever perform brand new material from their current writing sessions.

After the warm-up show, ANTHRAX will then fly to Los Angeles and join Iron Maiden on their “Somewhere Back In Time” world tour. ANTHRAX is direct supporting Iron Maiden at the May 30th and 31st shows at Irvine, CA’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

ANTHRAX’s Charlie Benante says “Playing with Iron Maiden again is such a thrill or us! We can't wait to be a part of these two magical nights.” Guitarist Scott Ian adds, “It is an absolute honor to be asked to open the Irvine shows for the Kings of Metal Iron Maiden. Anthrax’s tours with Iron Maiden are my all time favorites. Up The Irons!!!”

Lastly, bassist Frank Bello exclaims, “I saw them 2 weeks ago and sang every word. They’re better then ever!! I can't wait to play with them again!! Good times!!”

ANTHRAX is currently writing for their new album. This will be their first studio album since 2003’s “We’ve Come For You All,” and also their first album with Dan Nelson on vocals.

Yeah, I saw that too. One of my friends was very excited about going to see him. He's probably better solo anyway. I saw a couple of the reunion shows are they were good (I mean Skeleton In The Closet live!! :worship: ) but he seemed very out of place and looked like an old man onstage compared to the other guys. John was really awesome - We've Come For You All is just a stunning album!! :kickass:

Hehe. This reminds me when I was in 8th grade and used to skate in the street listening to Anthrax, Exploited and Suicidal Tendencies. I think I had a Bones Brigade hat with that flap that went up in the front.

I wonder who'll open for the Concord,CA May 28th show...I got my tickets for all 3 Cali shows.

I saw Anthrax open for Maiden back in 1991 at Arco Arena,Sacramneto,CA - They did the Sabbath cover "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"!

I got some pretty good pics of Anthrax opening for Judas Priest in 2001 & Halloween weekend of 2005 at my link below:

Up the Irons,

I've been fortunate enough to see Anthrax a couple of times.

The first time was at the KNAC Karnival One... Which was a celebration of I think... the first anniversary of KNAC.com... Anyway, Anthrax closed the show (there were rumors that Maiden were supposed to play but the venue balked at the idea because all the acts ran a bit late... I know the guys were there because you could see them being interviewed backstage...) Anthrax took too long to set up and I had a few too many gin & tonics so I lost my front row position...

The second time, my sister and I found out about a special show at the Whisky to debut Joey Vera as the new bassist. The night before the show, my sis and I got tickets to see a free screening of their Chicago concert at the Sunset 5 Theaters in Hollyweird. Met Charlie and Rob Caggiano, who remembered us the next day after the show (the guys stayed after the show to sign copies of the concert dvd for those of us who had pre-ordered them).

Great bunch of guys...

I wish John Bush was still in the band. His voice and powerful style reminds me of Bruce Dickinson...

OMG ok I'm totally excited for these shows, I'm glad we are going to both shows out here.. Now I wish I was closer to the stage for Mr. Scott Ian....I lust this man.. but I have seen Anthrax up close at one show and also seen Scott at the Galaxy when he played with his Gf's band.. hmmmm yummmy
