Anthrax at the Double Door - May 28

Metal legends ANTHRAX have announced a short spring tour, kicking off with a warm-up club show at Chicago's Double Door on May 28, 2008. The Chicago warm-up show will be the band's first live performance with their new singer Dan Nelson. In addition to the band's classic hits from their 25 year career, ANTHRAX will for the first time ever perform brand new material from their current writing sessions.

After the warm-up show, ANTHRAX will then fly to Los Angeles and join IRON MAIDEN on their "Somewhere Back In Time" world tour. ANTHRAX is supporting IRON MAIDEN at the May 30 and May 31 shows at Irvine, CA's Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

ANTHRAX's Charlie Benante says: "Playing with IRON MAIDEN again is such a thrill or us! We can't wait to be a part of these two magical nights." Guitarist Scott Ian adds, "It is an absolute honor to be asked to open the Irvine shows for the Kings of Metal IRON MAIDEN. ANTHRAX's tours with IRON MAIDEN are my all-time favorites. Up The Irons!!!"

Lastly, bassist Frank Bello exclaims, "I saw them 2 weeks ago and sang every word. They're better then ever!! I can't wait to play with them again!! Good times!!"

ANTHRAX is currently writing for their new album. This will be their first studio album since 2003's "We've Come For You All", and also their first album with Dan Nelson on vocals.

That was my thought. Trivium was tapped to open for Maiden in Jersey, so maybe Maiden is working on getting some other pretty good sized bands to open for them on this leg of the US tour.

I'd care and totally go if Belladonna was still in the band..consider it if Bush was in the band...don't care anymore with the new guy.

I saw 'em with Bush many times. It was weird, because the lead singer of Anthrax was actually singing well and on-key. Man, those old songs sure sounded different when sung by someone capable.

I find it hilarious that he is calling his solo tour NEVER LOOK BACK, though the whole set is made of primarily ANTHRAX material.

I agree, never thought Anthrax looked or sounded comfortable with him in the band. Once he joined it seemed like they were always trying to find a groove and while there were some good songs they just never got there.

Wow, this might be one of the first times we both agree!!!
I dug some of SOUND OF WHITE NOISE when it came out, esp "Only"

Anything I heard from the albums that followed were simply horrid.

I've seen Anthrax with both Belladonna and Bush. I also only like "Sound Of White Noise" from the Bush era.

I have no interest in seeing this new vocalist. Friggin' A...how many times can you switch a front man for a major band like that, ya know?

I saw Belladonna last week or so...he played all of the Anthrax hits that featured his vocals and some new stuff to boot. Good and very energetic show!
