Grabbed it off of Amazon yesterday for the $.99 student deal.
Overall a hit and miss album for me but the best songs are easily among my favorite from her. Been listening to Government Hooker and Americano nonstop.
The Fame was also a fairly hit and miss album for me. I think the shortness of Fame Monster worked for that album as there was only one song I didn't care for much.

I thought The Fame was pretty hit/miss and hit hard and missed hard. Monster however ruled front to back like you said, and really solidified my fandom for her and her songwriting/singing. I definitely feel like Born This Way is something fresh and new and not The Fame 3. Yet at the same time, it's undeniably Gaga. I think it requires a few spins for sure!

I listened to Alejandro when it came out, because I promised to give her a fair chance..

I listened to the entire album, and I personally thought it sucked major ass. Just proves that I just do not like Lady Gaga or any of her ilk. But, hey, at least I gave it a chance.

Not true! I adored Ace of Base! I had all of their songs and CDs memorized.. and she is no Ace of Bace, except in that she apparently steals their music. :/

It was more in reply to duchess since she specifically said she'd only listened to alejandro and will write of all pop music. I'm sure any of you would flip off at someone writing off all metal because they listened to one song by Hollywood undead

Have not given the album a full listen, but Born This Way and Judas made my running playlist almost immediately. Wasn't a huge fan of Heavy Metal Lover, and will check out the rest as soon as I have some free time.

Reading this thread is making me think I need to check out this album. I wasn't impressed with Born This Way, as it reminded me of Madonna to much. Seeing as I like Katy Perry however, I might need to give Lady Gaga a second chance.

Yeah, I've listened to other pop songs besides just Judas.. I'm still not a fan. I go to dance clubs and stuff in DC and hear all the new music, and it's okay to dance to, but I couldn't listen to it just because. It's like Rihanna and Katy Perry.. I just can't stand it. I have to listen to it whenever they show it on TV at work (we always have a TV on) and it just grates on my nerves. I remember hearing I Kissed a Girl and thinking "What the hell is wrong with people!?".
But that's just me.

My point was that it's simply ridiculous to think lesser of people who do not share the same tastes in things you do. I was largely reacting to your "What the hell is wrong with people!?" statement. I used to rag on people all the time for liking Country and Limp Bizkit and Nickleback, and then I realized that in the grand scheme of things, it all comes down to that one statement....

[thing] obviously is interchangeable between everyone. Everyone can and does fill in the blank. I fill it in with "wall of death." "mosh pits" and "digg." Everyone has their [thing], and if it's not doing anything to negatively affect me, I've come to the conclusion that it's more apt to be apathetic about it, rather than trumpeting from the hilltop how much I disapprove, be it for a true disapproval, or to show everyone "LOOK HOW ANTI-[thing] I AM, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE PIECE OF CULTURE I IDENTIFY WITH SAYS I SHOULD THINK."
It's funny too (and this is largely a side tangent, and has nothing to do with you, Nina, I promise) because for all the talk of non-conformity and acceptance and breaking away from the mainstream talk in metal, we certainly tend to have tunnel vision and almost celebrate hating certain styles of music. For example Rap. We as a community tend to be incredibly disrespectful. Sometimes, it's enough to make me all ._.

Hey hey now, I'm not ragging on anyone. I'm not calling anyone dumb or anything that. I said I "thought" "What the hell is wrong with people!?". Not that I said it. Just because I think someone is crazy doesn't mean I'm gonna treat them like they are.
For example; one of my best friends is a livid Lady GaGa fan. I'm not gonna give him shit for it, because he thinks I'm crazy for liking metal. It's not that I think less of people.. it just isn't my thing. Not a big deal.
