Yeah I'm going... L'amour always has a whole lot of sucky openers, they're trying to keep you in the club for as long as possible, so you'll buy as many beers as possible.

do you know when they go on?

Err..does anyone know this for sure? 'Cos I dont' think my GF's mom will really want her in a shit-hole club 'till 11 and later. I'm still gonna go, but I would like her to come with me, as I've turned her into a Sym X fan.

I can pretty much tell you SyX will go on no earlier than 11:30-12 at the *least* This is just how Lamours works, sorry dude :p.

Having had much experience with L'Amour over the past few decades, I'm pretty sure Symphony X won't be on before 11pm, especially with nine openers playing before them. Even with the two rooms/two stages nonsense, things still run late. Pack a lunch, pitch a tent and kick back because it's going to be a loooooooong night.

I'm considering going to this show. The only kicker is that I live in Florida. It would be at least a 24 hour drive to NYC. I have never seen SymX before and am dying to. Do you guys think it would be worth the drive to see them at this venue with all the shitty openers? Plus, since it is the last date of the Odyssey tour, do you think the guys would play an extended set?

I wouldn't bet on an extended set( although they might pull out Ashes). But I would definitely go; just in the possibility that they won't perform "The Odyssey" after this tour for awhile. But I will definitely be there with their ridiculously overpriced beer in hand.

Look at it this way, Lamours does have a lot of shitty openers, but they also do have some awesome bands occassionally. Divinity Destroyed is opening for them, and I'd go to the show to see them alone, and Symphony X is just an added bonus. Plus, how many times wil you get to see the Oddessey(sp?) live?

And I dont have to worry about the rediculously overpriced beer since I can't drink for a few years anyways

Yeah, um. I'll be there. I'll have a blond, too. Yee haw. I'll probably be in my Guardian hoodie, but I hope to leave with a Sym X hoodie. And the blond, can't lose her. 'Rents might be a tad upset

Look at it this way... There might be a lot of openers and the show might run late, but it's a Saturday night and you don't have to go to work in the morning. ;) And it's Christmas time, so you can go into Manhattan and visit Rockefeller Center and do all that Christmasy stuff. Don't expect to find a hotel near L'Amour, though.
