Forgive me for sounding like an uninformed douche here, but the characters from this film, will they be in anyway related to the characters that were in the Dawn of the Dead remake, or did the remakers completely change the story, I've never seen the original

I don't think so, but I don't understand your question really. My understanding is that it takes place quite some time after the events of Day of the Dead (which takes place pretty shortly after Dawn of the Dead), after the Dead have come to rule the world pretty much and become more of an annoying fact of life than a danger?

The Dawn of the Dead remake was really more of an homage than any kind of continuing of the Romero storyline - and I don't think any characters carried over within the original films at all so I bet this will feature an all new cast.
