Large Hadron Collider Up and Running

Well good news, the Large Hadron Collider (or as I like to call it the Big Boner Smasher) is not being sabotaged from the future, nor has it created any black holes that will destroy the solar system. The boys and girls over at CERN have released this press release talking about what they have done - nothing groundbreaking yet, but its good to know that at least 4 of the detectors work. Right now I'm reading "The Fabric of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene so I find this kinda stuff particularly interesting.
