Say what you want about Lars, he is very comfortable about his drumming ability, he plays for the band, not himself. Would it sound they same if anyone else played drums in Metallica? I do not think Metallica sold out, why? well if you making albums that you want to make without giving a fuck about what people think, that's not selling out, however if a band continues making simular album after album to please thier fans, that's selling out to your fans. They are scared of what people think if they should ever try something different. Some bands like Slayer are trapped by thier own image that they have to protect, one dimensional.............You cant get anymore metal in attitude than breaking you own rules..........
