Las Vegas Show

It did seem like the was only about 150 people there, at first! They started piling in around the time Anthrax started to play, about 4th song there was a lot more people there. 650 sounds about right.

I talked with Joey before the show, they were late getting into Vegas, jet lagged after a 17 hour flight. Joey was way cool! Joey, Scott & Dan were hanging out on the tour bus. Charlie & Frank had gone up to the casino to gamble, maybe Charlie was bummed he lost a little money? lol

I came to the HOB like at 8:50pm and as the show went on, there did seem more and more people. I really don't know what the max people for the club is...

Last month for Sevendust, just the downstairs area, I'd say there was definatly 1/2 the people for Anthrax.

There is just no way in hell there were 650 people at the HOB that night. Maybe they sold that many tickets, but 450 people flaked out to see Star Wars III.

It's was kinda hard to judge how many people sowed up. In the whole GA lower section to the stage had roughly 100 people.

I was standing like 4 people from behind the stage and there was more then plenty of arm/leg flex area w/o brushing into anyone. I guess to say a light/medium crowd. If the show was 16+ or at The Huntridge, then the show would definatly be very packed. There was a pretty good pit going at times w/ 20 people or so.

-- I remember Anthrax was suppose to play at The Hard Rock like 4-5 years ago and canceled due to poor ticket sales. --- I thaught that was like the lowest disgrace on earth! Poor ticket sales? Me comming from NJ, I never heard of such a thing.

The venue holds about 2000 when sold out. I thought in looked a little less than 1/2 full, so I think that estimate of 150 is pretty low. I mean, when you look at the room it's kind of shocking to think that it actually holds 2 grand, it certainly doesn't look like it!

Yeah, that BLEW when the summer 2000 show was cancelled. I was even working at the Hard Rock at the time, so I was super psyched for the gig...

Sean, Scott was ALL smiles at the Vegas gig, as was everyone besides Charlie. But as I've said before, there are so many things it could have been, but from MY vantage point, it looked like Charlie was pissed at Joey. Like I said, Joey would get in his face, and Charlie would look the other way. You don't have to have a PHD in psych to read body language. Also, sorry you haven't enjoyed the gigs you've caught here, believe it or not sometimes this city rules for shows. I gotta say, just about every time I've been in your neck of the woods for a show, I've pretty much thought the same thing. Well, besides the Supersuckers gigs I've caught there (they seem to turn it up a notch for their old stomping grounds).

Of course, the worst was when we had pit tickets for Ozzy/Rob Zombie New Years Eve 2002/2003. They cancelled the damn show!

Thrashard, this city cetainly does have more appreciation for punk. Unfortunatly it's the worst kind of cookie-cutter screamo garbage that's out there too. However, don't blow off punk entirely. Go grab some Stooges or Plasmatics records (especially New Hope For The Wretched - that is some awesome shit!) for some cooler old stuff. I swear, punk can be your friend!

My 2 cents...

Personally, I could have without the video before the show, but at least it wasn't too long. Aside from the difficulties they seemed to be having the first couple of songs, I thought all of them sounded great. Especially when Joey nailed some screams. That sealed the deal for me. After what, 10 years or so of not being a unit, and a long as hell flight, they played one of the best shows I've ever seen them do.

I can't comment about what mood or reactions Charlie may have had, because I actually didn't see him until he came out to throw a couple sticks. I was hanging out in my usual HOB spot stage right at the corner of the bar. It was cool when Joey came of the stage and ran up my way though!

No way there was only 150 people there. I've been to tons of shows at that place, and although I thought the crowd would be larger, I'd agree with little less than half full. I thought the turnout was a little disappointing, especially since I saw the place jam packed and sold out for Queensryche in February (I know, don't ask...)

I dont mean to totally diss Punk. I grew up next door to The Misfits, and I like Ramones, Rancid and some harder stuff.

Ive been to a bunch of Punk shows out here like Tiger Army - They are pretty good.

It's just there are a lot of Poser Trendy Wanna-be's here that try to act Punk, and I hate a lot of their Ideology -- Thinking Punk is the greatest music on earth and screw metal bands that play guitar solo's and stuff.
