Las Vegas Show

Awsome Show

Sucks they only played for 1hr 22minutes. I was hoping 2hrs at least.

Not that many people showed up. When Anthrax was last in Vegas w/ Bush, there was a lot more people and the crowd had more vibe.

The crowd in Vegas really didnt have much vibe towards Anthrax untill like the 5th song.

Glad there werent any kiddies at this show. Pretty much everyone here tonight was 21+ I saw Sevendust last month sometime, and there were tons of kiddies jumping and slamming into eachother... I ended up leaving that show after the 3rd song.

Setlist for Vegas was

AMONG THE LIVING
GOT THE TIME
CAUGHT IN A MOSH
AIR
MADHOUSE
ANTISOCIAL
NFL
MEDUSA
INDIANS
encore
BE ALL
I'M THE MAN
METAL THRASHING
I AM THE LAW

Everyone in Vegas still sleeping? I went to bed around 4am

I should re-clarify and say maybe under 125 people showed up?

Ive been to the HOB lots of times and you know when it's packed, especially in the back - trying to get to the bathroom or train along that long bar.

Getting up front was easy, and was mainly standing between Spitz and Joey.

-- WTF was going on with Dan's equiptment ???? The first 2minutes or so Dan didnt come out on stage for the intro of ATL

The sound guy kept checking shit out and it was a bummer -- The rest of the band just kept playing and then Dan just oddly walked into the song on stage.

It happened like 2 more times during the rest of the show. He missed a solo and had to switch guitars. -- Scott tried to fake Dan's solo as like an improv

Overall, Dan was playing very well and he is definatly back in action

I was at the show, I posed about it at the metal-sludge forums: http://www.metalsludge.tv/main/inde...&t=23853&sid=c2c7f2d721c0ea363f11d97f6e5ce240

Walked up at 8:30, Anthrax was scheduled to hit the stage at 9:00. Someone informed me that they had sold between 600 and 650 tickets at that point, in a venue that holds 2000. Of course, Twisted Sister and Cheap Trick each played the Silverton recently, that holds about 625, and both those bands only sold out the day before the show. Still, this isn't looking good. 4 US shows so far, and 2 have been poorly attended - at least I've been under the impression that Detroit wasn't sold out either. I'm bummed 'cuz this means Vegas will be skipped for sure when the fall tour rolls around. The fact that it was 18+ probably didn't help. The kiddies might not be lining up to buy Anthrax albums, but they will always be lookin' for something to do on a Saturday night.

Found a prime spot, and suprisingly the house lights went out at 8:45. Then a 20 min. film started, basically a condensed version of Behind The Music with some other things thrown in. Band came out, and it was unreal. Belladona, Bello, and Spitz all really seemed to be enjoying playing the tunes together again. Same for Scott, who was just a monster with the riffs. Charlie sounded great, but seemed to be avoiding making eye contact with Joey, who was constantly on the drum riser trying to get his attention. Then, when he would walk away, Charlie would look irritated. Almost seemed like they had been fighting or something beforehand, and Chuck just couldn't let it go. The set was a couple songs shorter than Australia also, hmmm...

Still these guys were tight. It's a shame they didn't get the slot below Maiden on Ozzfest, that would have been great. Maybe they can still hop on Gigantour (although I'd hate to see 'em below Dream Theatre - I can't stand that band). LA peeps make sure you hit the Key Club tomorrow, who knows how long this is gonna last.

The LA show is sold out. It's been that way for over a week now. It's a 15 and over show, I guess that qualifies for all ages. We'll see how the crowd reacts since LA is notoriously "industry people". I'm leaving in a couple of hours...

I doubt a concert would be my choice to be on a saturday night in vegas so I wouldn't judge this whole tour on sin city.

I guess I am glad I wasn't able to fly into town for this gig.

I look forward to hearing how LA goes.

I still laugh when I hear people acting like they are psychiatrists at a gig thinking they can judge how people are in life based on facial expressions.

This is bad as people that get upset if a band member doesn't always sign something after a gig.:Smug:

You can laugh all you want, I was there, and I SAW the dirty looks Charlie was shootin' at Joey. No one else that was at the gig seems to be disagreeing with this either. I'd like to add that I said "seems like", not "this is fact and I know it to be true".

Also, care to comment on the fact that the set was abbreviated? I'm just curious what the regulars around here think about that. Jet-lag? Frayed nerves from so much travelling in the last few weeks? Band relationships breaking down already?

I still laugh when people who were not at a show question the opinion of others who were. Now that shit is funny...

Where the fuck are the LA reviews? Someone at metal-sludge posted that Bo from American Idol was there. http://www.metalsludge.tv/main/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=23905 Big whoop - someone tell us about the show!!1

I have to agree, I saw it at both Chicago shows.

does charlie ever have a huge grin on his face live? no...does he ever interact with the rest of the band...not really. Considering this reunion was his idea I would imagine he is enjoying it.

Vegas show under 125 people??

I was giving a rough guess. It was hard to tell how many people were on the 2nd level --- Id say like less then 1/3 of the seats were full on the 2nd level.

I really cant see more then 150 people that showed up.

dirty looks?? give me a break you shrinks without a permit!!! get a life !!

Again, you were not there. Anyways, shouldn't all that hash you have over ther make you mellow, chill the fuck out, I'm just telling you what we saw in Vegas. Shortened setlist, Charlie moping. No biggie, the show still kicked ass!!!

If you want to be a blind follower that's cool, but if you want to read objective reviews you probably shouldn't bash on people whan they post them.

t-rave, I've seen Anthrax many times, but I've never seen Charlie looking so bitter. I'm not saying he actually was, but it sure seemed like it. Maybe it could it have been the low turnout, who knows?

Thrashard925, I'm pretty sure the number of tickets sold is around 650 (I got this figure from a friend that works there).

ukj69, thanks. Nice to see a familier face from the sludge boards....

Hey, I need some assistance from the board phds. I have a disgruntled look currently on my face. Does it mean A) I am hungry B) pissed that I have to get my windshield repaired C) sick and tired of people over worried at every thing that Anthrax does since it was reunited.

Scott and Charlie have never really smiled onstage like I would this very moment if 2 hot girls(heck, I will take just one:Spin:) showed up at my front door right now.

I would say that a quick reunion followed by travelling from a few states, over to Europe, over to Australia, back to America would have anyone cranky.

Heck, I just flew to Chicago for one freakin gig(didn't help that an idiotic bodysurfer fell on me causing some sort of damage) and about half a night's sleeping in an airport terminal which caused me to be a wee bit pissed off.:hypno:

They probably would like a few slow moments at the moment.

Plus, I have traveled to Vegas for various shows thanks to me being close by in Phoenix. I have never really been that impressed with gigs there.

I am off my soapbox and off to pick up me some killer Chinese takeout food!:worship:

I will concur though. where are the LA reviews?

The Vegas metal scene really REALLY sucks! Although 2 summers ago, Vegas had it's first Death Metal fest - 3 days, and I have to say that was the best metal scene Vegas really had and when Pantera and Slayer played here.

Vegas has a big Punk scene, but fuck them, Im not much into Punk music.

Im definatly driving to Arizona to catch Overkill play :hotjump:

Vegas show was awesome.

Thraxx is on his way home from the LA show (8/10 hr. drive????). I'm sure tonight we will have a review.

maybe he had a case of the diareah:hotjump: whatever, good to hear it was a good show~~

It did seem like the was only about 150 people there, at first! They started piling in around the time Anthrax started to play, about 4th song there was a lot more people there. 650 sounds about right.

I talked with Joey before the show, they were late getting into Vegas, jet lagged after a 17 hour flight. Joey was way cool! Joey, Scott & Dan were hanging out on the tour bus. Charlie & Frank had gone up to the casino to gamble, maybe Charlie was bummed he lost a little money? lol

There is just no way in hell there were 650 people at the HOB that night. Maybe they sold that many tickets, but 450 people flaked out to see Star Wars III.

It's was kinda hard to judge how many people sowed up. In the whole GA lower section to the stage had roughly 100 people.

I was standing like 4 people from behind the stage and there was more then plenty of arm/leg flex area w/o brushing into anyone. I guess to say a light/medium crowd. If the show was 16+ or at The Huntridge, then the show would definatly be very packed. There was a pretty good pit going at times w/ 20 people or so.

-- I remember Anthrax was suppose to play at The Hard Rock like 4-5 years ago and canceled due to poor ticket sales. --- I thaught that was like the lowest disgrace on earth! Poor ticket sales? Me comming from NJ, I never heard of such a thing.
