I am wondering specifically about Masterpeace, but generally about all of their later stuff. I love the self titled and The Dark. I don't see what is great about The Human Factor and I have not really heard anything else.
Their newest one "Present Wasteland" was okay, but nothing really special. Other then the Self-Titled and The Dark, I haven't listened to anything else.
Started with David Wayne and had him for just the first two (amazing) albums. Then they had Mike Howe for a few. David Wayne died at some point, but not while in the band. Wayne also had bands Reverend (soon after Metal Church) and Wayne (who put out an album called Metal Church), and maybe more. But so far, anything post-Wayne Metal Church I have heard, I haven't liked.
Wow, I actually just read that David Wayne sang on MAsterpeace. I guess it is generally seen as a disappointment, but there are some who give it pretty good reviews.
Masterpeace is the less wonderful Metal Church album, but I cannot call it mediocre or dissapointing. It's just decent.
Try the Howe era albums, especially "Blessing In Disguise" which is my favorite album of their whole discography. I also like very much "Hanging In the Balance".
The last three with Ronny Munroe are very good efforts, but I wouldn't call them special.
