Can anyone tell me why thats happening? It sounds fine on headphones, on my monitors, but when I listen to my tracks in the car, the left guitar is much, much lower than the right.

Thanks!

Well, usually everything on the right is louder in my car because my big-ass leg is blocking the speaker in the driver's side door a bit (left side). Sure that's not all it is?

I've balanced the speakers in the car with the balance control so that they sound even.
Due to the distance, and bits of body, being in the way - I found that I needed to pan it LEFT by 2 notches.

Left speaker always sound lower in vehicles due to your relative position to the speakers....at least that's my experience.

Definately due to your proximity to the speaker, the right side is more aimed towards your right ear than the left being aimed away from you, some cars will be worse than others, particularly the closwer the speaker is to the floor and where your leg sits. You can calibrate your car stereo by taking a mono track of one guitar and move it around until your guitar is balanced but remember that anyone in the passengers seat will be unbalanced even worse.

We tend to critique out mixes worse than others, typically incar stereos. Listen to other mixes and pay attention to the balance. Most of use tend to not listen to mixes when we drive, but when its our own mxies we are listening for eq and volume balances andnotice little flaw in the mix and in the car stereo setup. The acoustics and speaker placement in cars are not the most ideal.

Right on, I definitely appreciate the feedback guys. When listening to another mix in the car today, I noticed it sounded better, more balanced, but all in all I was probably being a little too meticulous, and all of these theories are probable in the reason of my problem. Thanks!
