Lindgren i Amon Amarth-music video?

Mikael, while I find it intriging about your maditory military enlistment, I find it quite disquieting that you chose to respond to this thread instead of the "Big One", regarding Peters leaving the band...I think most of the fans are very upset over these events and would like some input from you regarding the situation with Opeth whenever you can get around to addressing it...tia

dude he'll get around to it.

Basically I don't feel ready to talk about it yet. People need to vent their emotions first it seems. Get some anger out. Some people say that I "tour the band to death", that I'm "greedy"...everything's "my fault". I expected that in a way but I don't want to be caught up in a discussion with people who know absolutely nothing about what the 5 of us have gone through. Look in our guestbook, someone called me a "dick" and that it's Roadrunner's fault etc...you know...WTF??!! I just love to play music, trying to make this band work and enjoy it while I can.

I have been in touch with Peter pretty much every day for the last week and I expect to see him this week and talk and drink coffee. We've been friends since the mid 80´s and I expect that to continue. The band is something we've shared for a long time but we started out as friends and that's what's important between me and him at this point.

Hope all is well with you lot.
Cheers
Mike

what the fuck? is this post serious? leave the man alone and let him post whatever he wants. I thought that little tidbit about ted was pretty awesome and something I wouldn't expect to see pop up at all, then you come in and ruin the moment by demanding some information that you feel entitled to from mike. that's pretty fucked up and i'll never understand why people post shit like this
edit: just realized that this topic is pretty old but i kind of lost track of what date this was while i was going through reading it

I like Amon Amarth
And yeah the guy looks very similar to Lindgren. Nice song.

Well, Mike, what people say isn't important. People can be a bunch of egotistical morons who look through their own narrow eyes.
I learned that through my father, to whom I haven't spoken in more than four years. I graduated from high-school, got inducted into the IDF (where I finished three courses - medic course, naval medic course and preventive medicine course), all without a father to watch me succeed - and all because I left him for not even trying to look at things through other people's perspective.

While this is a bit more extreme than people calling you a dick for Peter leaving, it's how those people should be seen - as non-important. Yes, it's a pretty sad condition where you don't speak to your father, but I learned to develop a certain indifference to him. It's the only way to keep going without letting bad stuff get in your way.

Anyways, I'm sure you already know that
I wish Peter all the luck he can get out there, and hope to see him release a solo album one day. I'm glad you two are staying friends, which is more important than any band, no disrespect for my favorite band, of course.
Wish you and the band luck writing the next Opeth record, and of course the new members a smooth entrance.

Keep rockin'!

Ted is actually the exact same age as me. Born on the 17th of April, 1974. I know that because I met him as we got tested for the military service on the same day...everybody there that day was born either on the 16th or 17th of April of 1974 as far as I remember. We're looking at eachother like "You like metal huh? Cool!" That's pretty much it. Thought you might find it funny...or whatever...maybe it's just...not funny at all?

The military found me being a troubled young man with tendencies of insanity and I got a note of dismissal pretty instantly. I just went home and wrote a bunch of chunky death metal riffs instead.

Mike

Haha, That story made my day. Tendencies of insanity? Sounds metal

That would be a sad day when Mike gets drafted by the military.
