Line 6 Toneport gx opinions.

I'm wondering what everyones opinion of this (line 6 toneport gx)is because I'm thinkin of buying it to record guitars for some home demos.

I know it probably isn't the best way overall but while I don't have much money this seems like the best option.

Also does anyone know if you need the internet to install it because im using a computer only for recording and no other function.

Best interface to track guitars for that price, hands down.

You need internet to authorize model packs only

I would like know are they playback processed signal with their ampsim in realtime?

But don`t try to plug guitar with hot pickup into it (like X2N, for examle), there can be serious clipping

Doesn't it have a line/instr. switch ? My cheap Native Instruments Session I/O has one.
Active pickups should be no problem then.

X2N not active pickup, plugging passive pickup into line input will cause high frequency loss.
Not every time active pickups gives more peak output than high output passives, actives are usually restricted by internal clipping.
