Greenday, My Chemical Romance ... don't display any particular differentiation in their writing styles.

I disagree about these two, actually. Er, maybe Green Day are repeating themselves these days, but there are pretty major differences between Dookie, Insomnia and Nimrod. As far as I remember, anyway.
Same with MCR. Like them or loathe 'em, you'd have to agree that all three of their albums are very different. In fact, most songs on the Black Parade pay tribute to a different influence. For example: Sleep almost sounds like it's been influenced by Radiohead and/or Placebo, Welcome To the Black Parade is pure pop-punk, Blood has a definite Liza *shudders* Minelli meets Queen (Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon) influence, etc.

Lol this is great. I wouldn't say I dislike LP but it's funny
Oh and MCR is a good band. Compared to Opeth it's utter shit obviously , but I see nothing wrong with enjoying "simple" rock
