liquid mix

Jens Bogren loves them if thats any persuation...

I have never used one, but they look pretty cool if you are struggling for resources.

well, if jens uses them, than im def. sold.

not really needing the extra resources as i use an intel mac :heh: but i figure for $350, its worth it for the compressors alone, because the suggested retail is over $700!

i just got paid today, think im gonna pick this up!

I got the liquid mix yesterday, and have been using it to mix a track. it has alot of character. so many different models of compressors. I really see this as a staple in my rig, and can't believed I lived without it!!

I've been really intrigued by these for a long time... Does anyone know if there is any difference between the older hardware with the screen on it and the newer ones that just have a logo in place of the screen area?

Its a shame, my flatmate has the old one of these and it worked for a week or so and then it it just wouldn't work anymore coz his firewire on his motherboard is pooh and unstable. I really wanted to have a longer play with it as I only had a few hours go with it, I might steal it off him as he hadn't sold it yet as my PC is way newer. How many can the old ones do, is it 16? I'm gonna steal it anyways :)

The "older" ones, which are really the "original ones" can do 32 channels.

I have had one for a few months now and it is awesome! The latest firmware make it even better. From memory, it definitely adds the character of the gear it emulates. I haven't done a formal A/B though. But it does what I expect.

For $350 that is a steal. Make sure you put it on a dedicated firewire bus.

The control surface is just an added bonus that is really handy when you want to use your ears.
