Looks like Lita is doing a tour, and has G n'R's Bumblefoot (Ron Thal) playing guitar with her band. I will be seeing this at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Here's the announcement from Ron's forum:

Hey all,

It's my pleasure to announce I'll be doing shows over the Summer with Lita Ford, playing guitar with the band alongside Bumblefoot drummer Dennis Leeflang.

To GNR fans: Lita and I have GNR's blessings to do this together, all is cool. This won't interfere with upcoming GNR plans, I'll be flying out and coming right back.

To Lita fans: lookin' forward to meeting y'all and having a great time together!

Oh yeah, bass players... :heh:

Thal is huge talent in the guitar spot. If you're not familiar with his solo work, check it out. He's much more than just a slash stand-in...

CSP (who did a solo on one of our songs) is an acquaintance of Thal's. Thal is one helluva guitar player and there's no question he's likely the best guitars that GN'R's ever had (at least technically speaking, I still prefer Slash myself).

What kind of bullshit statement is this? Like Axl is doing anything these days?!:lol::lol:

Actually, it probably is TRUE. I'm sure he's on some kind of "retainer" with GnR. The way the online forum posting GnR fanbase is, he probably put that in there to also squelch (or try to) some of the b.s. Seriously, a couple of the forums I checked out, the folks carried on like a bunch of old hens.

I'd be surprised if the current version of GnR does tour again,
I too prefer the old v1.0 GnR days, but I'm a huge fan of Thal's, and this is his "Whitesnake", like when Vai joined for an album & tour, and had the financial freedom to do whatever he wanted after that. More power to Ron. I hope it all works out, but he'll make a Lita Ford show even that much more special for me.
