Live Monitors For Studio Use

Has anyone ever used a Stage Wedge with a woofer and horn for reference in a studio setting or would this be completely retarded?

its not a great idea you would be better off on a cheap stereo that was design to play back at listening volume. pa speakers are built to be damn loud and are nowhere near as nice to listen to as a decent stereo as there solo purpose is to be loud

I have a cheap stereo.. I guess I will have to start the hunt for studio monitors which are too expensive.

KRK Rockit 5's.. $150 a piece, cheaper than decent monitor wedges for live sound.. which I agree is a horrible idea, not their intended use at all

Yeah I wouldn't go out and buy wedges. I have some and was just going to used them temporarily.

I remembering seeing a local studio that had 3 stage monitors, one left right and center. lol. He was charging 300 ish a song.
