Originally posted by Jo Oyo, every time I go walking in the bush I hope to find a bunch of people with chainmail on hitting each other and yelling "SLAY THE VAMPIRIC BEAST!" (no, seriously!)
I'd like to see that! May seem even more unusual in the Australian bush.
The closest I have come to witnessing such a spectacle was back in Ballarat a few years ago when we were all drinking at this place that had an oval behind it. There were these guys from Kryal Castle (this medieval theme park kind of setup for those that aren't local) were practicing their sword fighting and spear throwing. They were really awesome and let us wear their chain mail and throw the spears...Flashbacks....! That was fun
I wonder if there is some underground live role playing ppl running around Aust?
A crappy small place in southern Finland... sounds like Lohja to me...
I know how it feels, when a once-loved RPG-group falls apart because people just don't have enough time anymore. Damn jobs and studies! But that's why long holidays were invented - to give people a chance to gather once again in their home-towns to sit down and just play RPGs for days! I can't wait for Christmas...

-Heh,I think Lohja is a major city compared to this little hole

-Yep. Everyone's so busy. When someone has free time, the others don't have it. And when the others have, the one hasn't. *sigh*

-Damn...I have to figure out a way how to gather people together and play again..
I've been in a few LARPs recently. It's not always about running in the woods with plastic swords (That really isn't my loaf of bread, I get a real camp-feeling in those)
We had this LARP called "Asylum" in which we had an empty old museum, in our use (a mansion with four or five floors). The idea was that the place was a mental instituion in about 1920, and some of us were playing the staff, some were patients and some were just people who had some reason to be there. And the main plot was Cthulhu-based. It was fucking great.
