i need a midi router / bay, or something to manage lots of midi connections

i hear bad things about the motu midi express thing, which seems to be the only thing available on sweetwater's website

the project im about to do is going to have loads of midi ins and outs, so i need something to hook it all up and route...

any suggestions? not all of the gear has usb midi capability

i have the Digi MIDI i/o joey.. it works great... i can suggest the place i got mine if you like.. they ship.

google 'em, ask for Jim

I use an old JLCooper Nexus 3x8 Midi Switcher.. Old stuff still rule. I fully recommend it.

I've had 2 MOTU midi routers, MTPAV and a Express 128. Both work great. MTPAV was used, Express was $200 new. Only think I hate about USB is that is polling driven whereas the old AV was parallel port and therefore interrupt driven. Interrupt meant less latency. Wish they'd all move to network based for...everything.
