Local band I mixed, needs opinions!

Band is a local band named "Reckoning"

Been recording with them for the past week.

How's everything sounding so far? Any tips to improve the mix?

i think the kick needs some more high end. i love the rest of it. sounds good

Kick needs some more punch. Not necessarily high end but PUNCH. And maybe some low mids in the guitar.

roll of the gain of those guitars. and add some low mids.
snare is pretty generic sounding. make it sound distinct.
you made this sound pretty death metal-ish and it
doesn't EXACTLY fit the music these guys are playing IMO.

aside from the kick being too low in the mix, and missing a bit of punch, this is a pretty good mix, i'm liking the guitar tone!

it's strange though, in some areas it sounds over-gained, and under-gained in others?

lowpass the guitar a bit more, carve a little niche for the vox. itt'l also let the slap of the kick through a bit better

Snare, kick and guitars need more high end IMO, bass sounds good. Sounds like it could benefit from some more bass drops though.
