Since some of us live in different regions, I thought we could have a thread to showcase our favorite local talent!

Since I was up to my eyebrows in the Michigan local scene, I'll start there!

Dendura - female-fronted, Egyptian-themed, progressive-influenced metal

Miles Beyond - Heavy on the Maiden

SMYT - a little mainstream metalcore, but hey they cite Dream Theater and Maiden as influences and they all graduated from one of the greatest music schools in the nation - Interlochen!

I didn't post any death metal.... you might not be so lucky next time. Michigan breeds it like a bad rash

Okay since I am in College Station and we have basically no scene I will list a fav from the major cities, but we do have Burning Midget

Houston:
Pretty much every band on Madfest, but Eternity Black holds a special place. There is also Six Past Hell

Austin:
tied between Meyvn and Vesperian Sorrow

DFW:
Weaken the Adversary

San Antonio:
One of Sixx

We ain't got nothing here in El Paso it's Heavy Metal Maraichia, so i will have to go with a fes bands from other Texas cities.
Austin- MEYVN

Dallas- GHOULTOWN

Houston- Every band from Houston that is playing MADFEST, KRUCIBLE, OUTWORLD, SIX MINUTE CENTURY, ETERNITY BLACK, MAGISTRAL

Sorry there just isn't any talented bands in El Paso that play decent music.

Scale the Summit is great if you are into instrumental stuff. As Eden Burns is a fav, as well as The Final Plague and Cast In Grey. All really good Houston Metal bands.

They aren't around anymore? The last I heard they were. They just played a show about a month and a half ago. Maybe I'm just completely oblivious or something.

NO NO NO...Cast in Grey is a band that was formed from the now defunct DEEP. Cast in Grey are still around...sheesh

Ok I finally went through some of the Myspace stuff and found some cool bands from TX!

There is Will To Live - great Houston hardcore band with old school thrash influence. Great guys too.

Broken Teeth - Jason McMaster's band from Austin in the vein of DT and AC/DC

No Ballads - these guys embody the old skate thrash days of Skatenigs, Scatterbrain and the like. Awesome and funny as hell

I can't believe nobody has mentioned this guy yet either...Marzi

Well don't waste any time going to our myspace and checking out the latest recording we've been able to do. Keep in mind we did it on our own with little mixing and we're more of a live band than a recording band at least from my perspective. Eclipsed By Sanity
