Look what I just got!

I saw a big GnR original Appetite cover (with the dead(?) prostitute) back patch on eBay a week or so back, it was awesome.

There are some stupid people around!

My best mate's made heaps from selling football memorabilia on ebay. He buys old badges and things from the 80s for $1 or whatever, and gets back his money 5-10 times over.

He also bought an LP from the 1956 Melb Olympics for $5 at Dixon's in Melbourne, and some museum of sport wants to pay him $50 for it.

Ah I've gotta getta get into that stuff next year, when I'll have the time.

I bought a copy of MOJO (Paul McCartney interview featured) as I usually do, for about £3 I think it was (again, normal newsagent price).

Read it, and put it up on Ebay. Guy in NZ bought it for £10 when if he'd waited a month he coulda bought it there for at least 1/3 of that (No idea how much MOJO is downunder... I think about $7? Anyone?).

There's definitely money to be made - thousands of people run auctions on Ebay as their fulltime job (and make enough to survive and more!). I plan to start going to local auctions and buy nice, cheap shit and then selling it online. Just small to start with, obviously... I had planned on hitting charity shops, too, but they're pretty canny these days and charge through the roof for some things.

Sounds like a good idea. What kind of things are they charging through the roof for now?

If you like arsing around on the net anyway, it must be a good way to get a bit of dosh.

They charge a lot for things like old china, etc - there's something like 3 antique shows on the TV here, usually with an auction attached to it, so a lot of people think that if they got to a garage sale or car boot sale, and pick up something they can make a bit of dosh (lots of old shit can be bought if you know what to look for, according to these shows, and auctioned off).
