Oh wow that's really awesome! I know what you mean about "tailoring" I end up doing it to most of my band t-shirts, especially the ones my boyfriend passes on to me haha, because, I despise the weird little aged spots that are useless, and and the excessively large men's sleeves that even men don't need that much room for haha.

If it already fits you well, then there really isn't much you can do :/

I talior my shirts so they fit me better...this is what I usually do:

I usually find a shirt in my closet that fits well...I lay the huge shirt on a flat surface, and I put the fitted shirt on top. Then I use chalk to trace an outline onto the huge shirt.
Working with the sleeves is a little more difficult....you have to lay the seams that go around the shoulders on top of one another, then use the chalk to trace the outlines.

After that, I use the chalk lines as a guide to do some basting stitches on the main body of the shirt, cut away the sleeves, cut away the excess material, figure out where all the new seams will be, and then sew the sleeves on while the shirt and sleeves are inside out. I also use a cris cross stitch on the cut edges to prevent fraying.

It's really pretty easy, but it takes a little time (and a sewing machine)

Yeah that's usually what I do, but sometimes I find it a little easier to just free hand it without using a shirt as a model, because sometimes the material of the band t-shirt isn't as stretchy or what not, so I just use my measurements and it usually works out pretty well. The sleeves are always a bitch hehe.


But if your t-shirt is really old and worn out, but fits you, if it has holes and is just getting too crappy to wear proudly, I cut out the logo, design or whatever, and sew it onto something else, whether it be another plain t-shirt, or a jacket or sweatshirt or whatever. That's my method of putting it to good use anyway!

I just opened up the mailbox, and guess what was there today
It's in better shape than I expected...there really isn't much fading, but the printing is a little stretched out...either because they dried it on a high setting, or it was a little too small for the previous owner

I'll post pictures of it in a bit...I'm going to share my giddiness with Via now :Spin:
