Listening to "true" black metal quality definitely isn't an enjoyable activity for me. Looking for newish band releases like:

Abigor -- Fractal Possession
Abigail Williams -- Legend EP
Absu -- Tara
Apostasy -- Devilution
Behemoth -- Demigod & The Apostasy
Benighted -- Icon (VERY catchy to me, esp the carcass-y parts)
Black Dahlia Murder, The -- Nocturnal
Catamenia -- Location: COLD
Dark Funeral -- The Secrets of The Black Arts
Dawn Of Relic -- One Night In Carcosa
Diabolical Masquerade -- Nightwork (and no, I do not like their other works)
Dimmu Borgir -- Anything by them
Emperor -- Prometheus: The Discipline Of Fire And Demise
Enslavement of Beauty -- Mere Contemplations
Immortal -- Sons Of Northern Darkness
Keep Of Kalessin -- Armada
Le Grand Guignol -- The Great Maddening
Lurker of Chalice -- Lurker of Chalice
Naglfar -- Pariah + Sheol
Old Man's Child -- Vermin
Skyfire -- Spectral
Vesania -- God The Lux

Also, anything Tech-Thrash throw my way such as Cynic/Death/Atheist

Callenish Circle - My Passion // Your Pain
Shade Empire - Sinthetic
Arhont - Arhont
Mors Principium Est - Inhumanity
Disarmonia Mundi - Fragments Of D-Generation
The Faceless - Akeldama
Carcariass - Killing Process
Blood Rainbow - Smelteries Of Damnation
Satanic Warmaster - Carelian Satanist Madness (very accessible but raw as well)

Akeldama is really meh, imo. A couple good songs but overall a general descent into wankery.

The first Black Dahlia Murder album owns, you should check that out if you don't have it already.

Try the new Keep of Kalessin album, Kolossus.

Also, if you like the Catamenia album Location:COLD, then try some of their older stuff.

And lastly, if you like melodic death metal have you tried bands like Amon Amarth, Insomnium, and Kalmah? They all have very good production, especially their newer releases.

yeah, i seriously kept insomnium's "above the weeping world" playing all day. I have the kickass Amon Amarth Wrath of The Norsemen DVD. Kalmah on Swampsong.... amazing

Cryptic Wintermoon - A Coming Storm
Graveworm - Scourge of Malice
Mirzadeh - Ancient Rites
Mustan Kuun Lapset - Talvenranta
