Yep! It's on. It's at the Elk Lodge in the West End. I need to get the information out on that. I've been so incredibly busy that it's ridiculous!!!! Here is the press release from CWE:

As of this writing, it is 7/9/04 and we are 3 weeks away from the BIG
EVENT!!! It seemed so long ago, and now…WOW!!! Here we go with the largest
Richmond gathering since November 2000!!! We have some since 2000, but
nothing on this scale. So, be sure and come out and join us. You won't
want to miss this one.

I) FRIDAY NIGHT:

We will be having a rather informal gathering which will include prizes,
surprises, R.A.R.E. Society items to purchase (Get ready for the Fall tour
w/ Fall fashions in the QR vein), contests and who knows whatever else.

II) SATURDAY:

This has gotten a lot of press and hype, so here is the skinny very briefly:

A) Food Bank FOOD DRIVE (11:00AM-3:00PM) CENTRAL VIRGINIA FOOD BANK FOOD
DRIVE PRESS RELEASE
The Central Virginia Food Bank in cooperation and coordination with VH-1
CLASSICS’ national touring artists , Queensryche , are holding a Food Drive
on Saturday , July 24th in Richmond , VA

THE location will be Bogart’s Restaurant in the Fan Area on the corner of
Broad Street and Lombardy at 203 N. Lombardy Street . The time will be from
11:00 AM to 3:00 P.M. .The telephone number is 804-353-9280.

THE event is being spearheaded by Queensryche’s local fan club, The
Commonwealth Empire , along with other nationwide chapters of the fan club
network , as a weekend celebrating the band’s twenty (20) years of
performing.
THE band is out of the Seattle , Washington area and currently on the
Sanctuary Records label. Their releases have achieved both Gold and Platinum
Award status worldwide and led to VH-1 Classics sponsoring their current
world tour in support of the latest studio release, TRIBE , as well as their
live release , THE ART OF LIVE . The band is currently wrapping up the
European Leg of their tour , which will resume in the U.S. this Fall.

THE Food Bank is requesting that your canned goods be brought to Bogart’s
for pick up by their staff. Bogart’s is opening early for the occasion and
give gift certificates to those contributing more than 5 items , which are
redeemable for reduced entree costs.

THERE will be a concert later that evening with several bands showcasing
their music , as well as various selections of Queensryche’s music. Tickets
may be purchased at the Food Drive .

(i) Bring your canned goods. Wear your QR t-shirts. Come out and support
the Central Virginia Food Bank and the band as it supports the Food Drive.
(ii) Take advantage of the Bogart's gift certificates and have lunch!


B) THE "LIVE" CONCERT (4:00-UNTIL)

(i) The cost for tickets will be 12.00 each. Children under 12 will have
free admission.
(ii) There will be a cash bar
(iii) Finger foods will be included in the price of admission.
WHAT A BARGAIN!!!!!!

(III) SUNDAY:
Those of you interested can go to the Richmond Braves game for a chance to
chill out and unwind from Saturday Night. Also, King's Dominion and Busch
Gardens are close by if you want if you are going back or extending your
trip.

(IV) CWE APPAREL:

They can still be ordered if you want a CWE hat just like the ones given to
the band (in Raleigh, NC) and the CWE polo shirts as worn on the QR/DT and
TRIBE tours.

(V) PHOTOGRAPHS:

We will be trying to have a professional photographer there to capture the
show. Feel free to bring your own camera to capture the memories created
during this weekend and SHARE THEM!!!

(VI) OFFICIAL EVENT LAMINATE:

The cost of your ticket for Saturday will include a laminate commemorating
the event.
In order to get one, it would be good to pre-order your concert ticket to be
sure that we have enough printed. This will be in lieu of an admission
ticket to those obtaining their ticket in advance.
