Looking to start a band

Ok, I'm going to hurt my sisters out there, and offend many women,
but I agree with Mah.
fuck women who growl.... they can't do it. (and Gassaw SUCKS and people
who say she "rules" only say it because she is a woman... her growls worth shit)
Honeslty, I love female vocals only when they're clean... I love female singers *looks at her collection of female artist proudly*
but please they need to stay away from death metal.... :zombie:
thank you Karen..
truly we meant no offence to you Jen but man..its..it just doesnt sound right!
no it's not wrong. I love those type of vocals. It will probably be a mixture of clean and growly/screams anyhow.
if you can make it work for you, then more power to you..you may be one of the few that could ever make it work! :kickass:

do you have a drummer already, let me know cause i may come back to seattle and i play guitar and have a decently sized amp, the only problem is that i'm 16. PM me to talk about the music and age. For the moment i'm in the land of boose, romania, but i may come back to seattle in septemeber. And i also like Arch Enemy, mike ammot is one of my heroes. Btw post some soundclips with you growling.

I think that's a bad attitude to take, no offense. I imagine a shitload of people in the early nineties were saying the same thing about all growling when it was starting to become more noticable in the underground.

Do what you want, Jen. Music isn't always about sounding right. Trying to sound right and normal leads to complete and utter staleness(not a word) in the long run.

Go to MySpace and look up a band from Cincinatti called Estuary. If I hadn't seen them live I wouldn't have known it was a woman on vocals.

I sure as hell wasn't expecting her to sound like that whan I saw them at Sudsy's last year.

I know you guys weren't trying to offend me, you ladies rock, but I just really think it's a matter of opinion. There will be someone who hates anything you put out no matter what or how good it is. Shit I have a friend or two who don't like Nevermore, (specifically Warrel's vocals) And that to me is ubsurd!
But the saying goes Opinions are like Assholes, everyone has one and they all smell like shit. hehe ;)

Thanks for the word of encouragement :)

Thank you, I understand that's their opinion and I respect anyone's opinion.
I agree with you completely though.

I saw them when they came down to Louisville and played at the shitty, shitty Bulldog Cafe. Great live band, I hope I can see them again :kickass:

Are you seeing Celtic Frost when they play Bogarts in November? That show's on my 20th birthday. :heh:

hey if a womang can growl then she can growl. angela does suck. but if a girl can do it, then that's great. if you'd rather her sing angelically then just pretend you're listening to a fat hairy guy instead and enjoy. just because she's a girl that doesn't mean you should have an expectation of how she should sing.

i can growl as a lot of you know. not as good as i used to be, just haven't had the time nor a good place to practice anymore, but i've still got it in me. i can do clean vocals but growling's more fun :p

I didn't know about that one, who else is on the bill?
I'll probably be going to Cincy to see Origin next month.
