For me, Dawn Crosby was the finest female metal voice. I think some of the Fear of God stuff is still available on amazon. If you haven't heard it Jen, I recommend that you do. You will find it quite inspiring.

I honestly think you should steer clear of the growling.

You could do it Akerfeldt (Opeth) style, but since you're not Mikael, you'll probably sound like Otep and we all know that they suck.

If you could do some opera type vocals, I could probably get you a gig with my old buddy's Doom/Drone Metal band.

I have a lower voice. I can only go so far with the opera type vocals. I'll see what happens.

DAWN HAD HIV, so her vox was amazing grief over having it...awesome band as ewll...faster than slayer they were
